Dreams Are For Everyone-Not Just Dreamgirls!
Jennifer Hudson, Academy award winner and
star of the movie, Dreamgirls, got a lucky break
when Simon voted her off of American Idol.
She said that if he had not closed that door,
then this one to playing Effie and leading
to an Academy Award would not have opened.
For had she been the winner,
she would have been on tour and unavailable.
It happens all the time:
When one door closes, another one opens.
Sometimes a client will stop working with me
and later the same day, a new one will hire me.
We forget that we need to create space
for new things to enter our lives.
When it seems as though one path is blocked,
there will be another one clearing.
Sometimes it is right in front of us.
Other times we have to wait and seek it.
Trust, belief and patience are required.
As The Reverend Mother told Maria
in another musical, The Sound of Music,
"When God closes a door, he opens a window."
