Leadership Tip

The Art of Conversation

This is the season of holiday parties
and family get-togethers.
We are expected to eat, drink and be merry.
Conversation is an important element
of the festivities.

Many of us have lost
the art of conversation.
We connect through email,
text messages, blogs and voice mail.
These connections are not conversations.

Experts say a conversation is
when two people engage.
One hears the other and
the other genuinely responds.
There is give and take.

The best advice these experts
share for creating a good conversation:
Listen. It will spark something in you.
It will generate emotion and feelings with others.

Whether you are an extrovert or introvert,
you can enjoy the parties by listening.
Talk is cheap. Good conversation is priceless.
