Leadership Tip Open Door, Open Mind Having spent the last week in Dubai I have learned a tremendous amount about various cultures. One of my biggest takeaways was to see how similar many of the beliefs are to those I held. Sometimes we have a tendency to look at what divides us from others. We focus on the differences. As leaders, focusing on what we have in common can help to build bridges. Bringing an open and non-judgmental perspective can increase opportunities. The motto for a mosque that I visited was "Open door, open mind." In exchange for opening their doors, they ask that you bring an open mind. How could this concept impact the meetings and discussions in which you engage? Regardless of where you are in the world or your organization, focusing on similarities can ease tension and stress. It will also increase your happiness.
