Leadership Tip
Yoga for Everyone
What a relief when the yoga instructor said,
"Just do what you can for today."
Wow-she actually gave us permission to do
what we could and do what felt comfortable, not pushing ourselves
beyond our comfort zone. There is a time for pushing and a
time for pausing, slowing down or accepting.
We frequently look to others to give us
permission to let go of things. Yet, how often do we give
ourselves permission to just do what we can?
Often we attempt to take on too many things
during the day. In our effort to tackle an endless "to do"
list, we become overwhelmed. We feel frustrated when we are
unable to complete it. We lose energy and feel unsuccessful.
This is the season of spring breaks. To honor
this spirit, just do what you can today.
This new pose may stretch you. You may even
feel uncomfortable at first. It will be like attending a yoga
class.
